Stepmom, Bonus Mom…..Smommy….who am I???

….well….I am me!

I am a VERY important adult figure in the lives of two wonderful little boys that are now my stepsons. Married to their Father whom I love DEARLY, I have embarked on the ugly AND beautiful life of a Smom. I am not out here to steal the “womb factor” from anyone. Not here to down other step-parents or bio parents…nothing like that. Just here to attempt to offer insight, knowledge, experience, some tears and some laughs with those that are sharing the same path and enduring the roller coaster that is step-parenthood. There will be parenting stuff, step-parenting support and stories, recipes, educational info, child development info, local course/workshop info for Vancouver, BC, Canada as well as everyday ramblings.

By Rick Nauert PhD “Psychopathy is linked to antisocial behaviors including callousness, lack of empathy, pathological lying, manipulation of others, self-interest, superficial charm, and impulsive behavior,” says Holder. “Therefore, it is no wonder that a psychopath’s intimate personal relationships tend to struggle.” The study determined that those who scored higher on a measure of psychopathy […]

SHARED: A positive message for children during a breakup — Focus Mediation blog

Driving to work on my way to mediate with a separating couple, I heard a song playing on the radio by James TW called, ‘When you love someone’. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0Bf3CJZ4hvg. The song is about a child’s parents splitting up. The video is cinematic and well worth a watch (please follow the link). The parents talk to […]

SHARED: Co-Parenting with an Abusive or Narcissist Parent: Court Ordered Abuse? — The Long Term Effects of Parental Alienation

Unfortunately, co-parenting gives an abusive or narcissist parent a clear path of unintended court-sanctioned abuse, power and control of the ex-partner and the children, instead of protecting the well-being of the child. Co-parenting can give rise to all sorts of emotional terrorism when involving an abuser. Abusers find out quickly ways to control you as […]

SHARED: The mental state of parents who seriously abuse children through alienation — Parental Alienation

Parental Alienation – A Potentially Serious Mental Disorder L.F. Lowenstein The experiment which follows is based on 15 years of study of alienating parents and having measured their personality traits in three areas: psychoticism, neuroticism, and empathy. From BC? Please sign!!

Hi everyone,

I just signed the petition “Hon. Mary Polak: Spousal Support:  Support change not spouses.” and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.

This IS a local, British Columbia, Canada, petition which will go to our Langley MLA then on to Christy Clarke then hopefully through the processes to be passed to law.

For those of you that are directly effected by this or your friends or family are, you will already know how impossible this is for those we love who are trying to do the right thing for their children and family.

Our goal is to reach 100 signatures and we need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here:

Thanks so much for your support!

Profile of the Sociopath

WELL worth the read for those of you that are dealing with someone with these traits. Knowledge and understanding is power

Parental Alienation

  • Glibness and Superficial Charm
  • Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.
  • Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as “their right.”
  • Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.
  • Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims…
